I've found an old chain with some wear on it in my tool box. Is there an easy way of telling if it's 9 speed as I've the niggly thought that it could be an old 8 speed?
It "looks" the same as my current chain, when sat side by side but maybe it would. I don't know how different 8 is from 9.
thanks in advance

What markings are there on the side plates. There should be a model number of some sort from which it will be possible to tell.
