I guess it's something obvious.Put a new rear gear cable and outer on wife's bike.When i try and change up through the gears shifter goes up to 1 but chain don't move.I've checked that all the ferrules are fully into the stops just don't seem to be getting any tension despite pulling cable tight with pliers before cinching up.I know it's staring me in the face but can't for the life of me see it!Please help before i have to see Pete in the LBS .Oh the shame!

Is the inner cable seated in the shifter correctly?
