[Closed] Ohlins 160mm fork on an Orange Five 29er?

Thoughts on fitting a 160mm fork to my Five 29er? Already runs a 150mm as the factory spec and the Orange website says 150mm max but thinking a bit bigger shouldn't upset things too much? Obviously slacked the HA off a bit more and raise the BB but should be with tolerance of the frame I guess?

I've heard of people running bigger forks on standard Fives no problem so guessing it should be ok?

Just looking at the new Ohlins forks which come as 140mm or 160mm so do I up or down size as my current Fox forks are 150mm.

The RXF 36 as opposed to the 34 has a very very low A2C height for a 28er! Might not be that much taller than your current 34.

The RXF 36 160mm fork has a 568.5mm axle to crown vs 571 for the RXF 34. According to artscyclery, the 34s in 150mm would be 559. So 9.5mm difference, not really much.

They do a 150mm 36 on request.

A 5 29 with 160's would be a real weapon! Mine had 140's and currently using them on my new Segment without any problems.

Rxf 36 is available in 150mm. Local shop has one in but are waiting on the 160mm. Personally I think a five 29er would be great with a 160mm fork though.

I'd go with the 36 over the 34 if you can...

Got 160 / 130 Pikes on my 5 29, 160 for descents, 130 for ascending and trail type stuff.
Pretty damn fine set-up in conjuction with a CC DBA.

Cool, how does it ride with the 160mm? Obviously good for descents but does it adversely effect the general ride? Appreciate you said you select 130mm though but have you tried 160mm for general riding?
