[#195325]

::jumps up and down clapping hands in glee!::

I feel like a 9 year old because I've just ordered me a new mountain bicycle!
I've not had a complete new bike (off the shelf as it were) since, ohhhhh, 1991.....

Pitch Pro, £998 delivered, since you asked.

Yeah they are STW flavour of the month, but at that price, so what?

😀 😀

I'm going to try and keep it bog standard for as long as humanly possible,
How long will that last d'you reckon?
🙂

pitch? thats not a mondeo. my trek ex9 now that's a mondeo. most boring bike ever. does everything sort of ok but nothing really well. just waiting for my orange p7s. never thought the day would come when i would be more exited about a hard-tail than a full sus...... the pitch seems to get top marks from everyone at the moment, hope you enjoy.

Having met you in the flesh, the image of you jumping up and down clapping your hands in glee like a 9 year old is a worrying one. 😆

LOL @ Vdubber!
🙂

Dez - In a way, yes, but mostly no....
If I'm honest with myself it was never as much fun as my 04 Stumpy FSR. It always felt like it was better than I was and it was laughing at me for being a crap rider, and when I did push it a bit, the carbon chainstays were too flexy and it all went to pieces. I regretted opting for those after a few months. Should have had the alloy ones and saved £50.
Then just after I bought the Yeti, Spesh launced the Pitch, which was just the bike I'd been looking for.....
::Slaps forehead!::

Still, I've had my £1000-worth of depreciation/use out of it and it was superb on the Trans Wales
🙂

Rich - I was happy with the £1370. It's a fair price I think - More than half of what I paid for it. Bloke drove over from Kent to pick it up, and paid cash, so I've avoided a huge Paypal fee anyway... 🙂
Was it a Coiler that you're getting?

Mine was going to be delivered this Thursday but, due to circumstances, had to cancel...and I got the Dales deal. Must be going mad 🙁

Still think it might have been overkill for the Surrey Hills though.

Enjoy yours

Going to go and re-build my 853

Rich - are those components nesting, and come spring you'll have a new bike chirping around your house??

Also, once I've failed my exams end of Jan, do you wanna come down Dorset way and we can really wake the coiler up?? Maybe even a Wales trip in the near future??

MrsNutt (s****), you around end of Jan time??

Interestingly, when I google 'Mrs Nutt', this beauty is the first image...

Pitch sounds great - enjoy!!

Rich, what's that Kona? Something OB by the looks of the decals. Looks very like my old Cowan DS headtube, minus the gyro mounts. Those tyres look massive.

Yup, mine's coming from Cyclestore too. My LBS had one in for £900 but they sold it before I had the money ready 🙁

If you want a Pitch you'd better be quick. I just got the last medium one from cyclestore.co.uk and the Concept Centre in Chester say they are not making any more and Spesh UK have none left.

That Cyclestore link now says it will be back in stock on 03/09/09.

You could almost have a new baby in that time, let alone a bike!

Glad I bought a Reign rather than climbing on the overloaded Pitch bandwagon (not criticising, looks like a great bike).
