dont often get the chance for a saturday ride what with kids, wife working etc so made up when I got the thumbs up for tommorow Q disaster

Into the shed last night to find the ATA leg on the FS forks have lost all preasure in the top and only 40 int bottom, pump back up check this morning all preasure gone ARGH!!!!

Plan B new front pads on old hardtail and away we go, so gently prize old pads apart slot new pads in and.....brake fluid all over floor

so FS forks in the post and HT at local LBS hopefully sorted by thisavo

Anyone else having a fab day!

rode the SS to work today in preparation for a nice long off-road ride home only to have the chain jump twice. I suspect I will be taking the short route home ๐Ÿ™

Sods law innit?

Brakes off the FS onto the hardtail?
Forks off the hardtail onto the full suss?

Spend an hour or two in the garage this eveinng with a beer and some spanners. Sorted!

And I did this last week when the sun was actually out. Took the FS on the 15 mile road commute (bloody hard work compared to the road bike!) so I could take the long off-road route home. Cue the bottom bracket exploding in a crunching mess of broken bearing shells ๐Ÿ™

So anyone else overcome bike related adversi..adverci...(OK I cant spell it!) to still manage their ride today?

I had a good ride playing about on the downhill tracks in the woods. Last ride my cranks kept falling off, managed to fix that and using some bodgery with zip ties managed to get my saddle on the seatpost!

Stood up on the pedals of the commuter bike and the chain snapped.

Went over the handlebars and got gouged by the chain ring.

Also, bent my (dad's) front wheel which was borrowed.

Not today, but last weekend: half an hour into a three-hour ride I somehow managed to turn my 10-speed rear mech into a 9-speed one by yanking on it after it got battered severely out of shape by a big old rock. This was a good thing because before I'd yanked on it it wasn't working at all. I only noticed that I'd lost a gear on the last hill...
