Think I need some new spd shoes too, I'm getting bad hot spots in the cleat area after an hour or so. Feet were hurting as much as my legs!
What trainer are you using? Is everything calibrated and firmware up to date

That was ace. Missed the start but managed to catch up with the group. First time up the Alpe and managed 54:28 which was good. Keen for some more of those
PB on the Alp for me too, took off 9 minutes just another 8 to go to get under the hour, I think I need to lose a couple of kilos!

Signed up for today's crit ride. My legs are feeling the after effects of the Alpe so I'll try my best and see how it goes.
Have joined the crit though hoping to take three MTB out this morning. Got to fit the race in between handing the dog over to the walker and him coming back as well.
I'll need to see how the leg feels as a did a Neyoko crit yesterday and i'm currently undergoing physio for a calf/hamstring issues.... So i'm a possible maybe.... I'll go in the garage and start tidying early morning as i've got bikes all over the place with the Eeb in there and the Sworks without any forks and on the workstand as tehy're off at Sprung being rebuilt.
I've raced ven top twice, once with the start going via the Petit KOM! It's a long hard ride! I think I prefer the climb to ADZ though.
Suns out so I'm saving my legs for the real world later on.
Feeling last night's effort today, mostly in the sit bones though! That'll serve me right for doing 2hrs on zwift with only 3 rides since September!

More likely they've done something really important like changed the direction the alert bell tilts
I was confused about where the end was and thought that it levelled off for the entire last section. I pushed hard before that section (overtaking DFee) and then had nothing left for the last section which kept going uphill until the very end – DFee flew back past me like a train.
Thanks Stumpy, you gave me the kick I needed to throw down again. Between that and DrP encouraging me and giving a tow when I badly needed it I managed 59:41. At 86kgs I didn't think a sub 60mins would be possible. Time to shed some kgs, should be easy this time of year 🙂
Strange though, maybe because it was an event, but I didn't get an ETA or Alpe stage time at any stage so didn't know where I was in relation to the 60mins target until I crossed the line.

Yeh I think that must have been a result of it being an event but wasnt very useful.
I didn't enjoy the Alpe, I had a plan to ride to power, but then I set off too hard to set a PB and that meant that I just blew up and went backwards for the 2nd half, 5 mins down on PB. It probably didn't help having gone to the gym the night before, I'll rest the legs next time, which will probably be after Chrimbo now.

Wednesday crit was just two of us so we discussed power (more what I could actually manage compared to Aaron B!) and then road round together sprinting each lap - was a lot of fun
I would have been on yesterday's but have caught a cold & been feeling a bit crappy.
Didn't seem to affect me too much on Tuesday, but felt quite grotty yesterday.
Hopefully will be able to join more of these going forwards!

I enjoyed it as well. Turns out a group ride was actually what I needed rather than a race :D.
I did notice some odd bits while signing onto that event. I'm not in the STW club as there are limited slots and being in team I think it fairer to leave the slot free. In the companion app I could not see the event at all (until I joined it another way). On ZP I could see the event (though Tuesdays events did not show on there). From the ZP entry I could sign up using the 'Join at zwift.com link'. After joining that way the event appeared in the companion as 'event starting in...' however if I clicked to view the event then the companion app crashed!
I have put Tuesdays festive gathering into the calendar if anyone is interested in leading the ride? 60 minutes of sprints around Neokyo. I know it repeats last weeks but a lot of people didn’t do that so think it would be good.

After ~3 years on Zwift, I only discovered this week that you can start a route and do multiple workouts to save it one ride.
I was only combining an ERG warmup and two lots of Emily's Short Mix with my FTP lowered to very easy Z1, the frequent changes of effort in the 85-115W range helped make the time go by slightly quicker.
I've signed up for both, though not sure I'll make either as I've booster jab on Sunday morning and a very early start Wednesday. We'll see though, might make s bit of each.
My experience of the booster was pretty positive!
Booster on Monday evening - smashed my Alpe record by 8 minutes on Tuesday evening easily getting in under the hour. Then yesterday lunchtime I did a British Cycling TT event, came 3rd overall, won the B cat and averaged 338w for 23 minutes with a new FTP of 324w (from 304w) in the process. So it appears my booster was spiked with EPO and now I am going to get fatter over xmas and completely nullify myself for the next race series
My experience of the booster was pretty positive!
Mine will mainly be interfering with Sunday hills by virtue of being at 10.30am. given the current state of my fitness I don't think it could possibly have anything but a positive impact on my performance even if, rather than EPO, I'm dosed with Ebola.

Sprinters playground tonight - we will take it easy between the sprints an always regroup so if you dont want to contest the sprints feel free to do as you please. I will try and lead it and let you know when they are coming up! As it is a new route im not that familiar - perhaps an opportunity for some to get a route badge as well?

Based on last week, the sprints come thick and fast! Only just had my tea so I'll cruise through the sprints for the 1st half lap or so.
Would anyone like to lead a ride on Tuesday evening at 7pm or 7:30pm? I can’t do it but thought it would be good to get the first event in the calendar. Open to the ride leader to decide what sort of ride and course!

Sounds good - I need to get in some longer rides. BUT - during the day is not gonna happen, unfortunately.
I think the only way I can fit in longer rides is to get up early at the weekend and get some miles under my belt....

I would generally aim for 65% FTP for a steady 90 min session, with a warm up and cool down after...

I bought the Planet X trainer table a couple of months back. It's not exactly cheap but it is well made for the price and has plenty of space to load up with stuff.
I bought it while reduced by £20.

I’ve put a 2 hour ride starting at 10:15 in the group with @DrP as ride leader. It is set for big foothills at the moment but let me know what course you want to do. Late join is on so you can join up to 10:45
