Off on monday for the annual trip to India and ill be singlespeeding for 4 weeks in flipflops and a dhoti(sarong type garment). always thought of taking a bike but why bother when an atlas regal is waiting. ive ridden these for years in india, great fun. ill post some pics when im back. in the mean time enjoy the promise of spring, and hope the trail is kind to all.

Nice one Tang! I always had a dream of buying a trusty indigenous one-speeder like the one above and pedalling around India on it. However, when I got round to touring out there I flew out with a 24 speed MTB. Had a wicked trip but it wasn't living my dream. Have fun mate 🙂

PS. Never dreamt of doing it in a bloody sarong though.
Hare Hare Krishna 😉

yes its a skill riding in a dress. im with family there and as they are traditional priests i have to go native. ive mashed these through the jungles and down the mountains, commutes from hell. got a soft spot for them. plus theres a bike repair shop every few yards!

I am SO going to be talking to my colleagues in India tomorrow about setting up an import business for those!

Really, why are we not all riding simple, straightforward bikes like that as our mode of short-haul transport?

Retro steel frame. CHECK
Niche handlebars. CHECK
1/8 chain. CHECK

CFH, I put it to you that you are, in fact, a total & utter fakir-enger.
