... not been for about 12 months, has it changed a lot?
I seem to remember a pain in the backside little drop think it was called werewolf drop or something like that, tricky right turn through two trees then down. Is that still there?
Was a couple of months ago. If you have wide bars you might get stuck 😀
not done Cannock, but Stiles Cop is definitly worth a look, i was there a couple of months ago and they were busy building a new trail although the gap jumps looked a bit big for me
Watch out for the braking bumps as they are very dangerous!
the braking bumps were a pain last time I was there as well.
are they just caused by people carrying too much speed into the corners then locking up the back wheel?
On Sunday the final part of the final descent of the Dog is closed.
Oh and there's a new bit on the Dog where you used to have to go up and round a fire road.
Breaking bumps - once you know they're there you will be fine.
nothing to see at Cannock
THE BREAKING BUMPS ARE DANGEROUS!!! THE WHOLE PLACE SHOULD BE LEVELLED AND TARMACCED, OR SHUT DOWN FOR SAFETY'S SAKE!!!
(think of the children, etc etc)
Remember to take body armour, a 3 litre camelback with enough spares to build another bike. With all that you should just about be OK.
Oh, did someone mention the braking bumps again? They are dangerous!
If your asking about Follow Your Dad and the Donkey Trail Quite a few bits will have changed in 12 months, some more eroded, some fixed, some new. Werecub slope is still there, along with a Q of Orange 5s probably.
End of Tackeroo (from Hugh's bridge) is closed for essential safety related works on the Rollers, steps and berms plus maintenance on a couple of corners - please follow the signed diversion along the fireroads.

What about the helmet cam?
Right, over the past 12 months...
The start of section 2 (the first 'proper' section) has been moved to reduce conflict with other forest users, and to ensure the section doesn't need to be closed when the summer concerts happen. There's a timber feature with a rock downslope. It's quite exciting, but there's a chicken run around it if needs be.
Section 11 has been pretty much completely resurfaced and has had new features put in, such as uphill steps, downhill steps, and more bridges to cross the areas that were particularly susceptible to getting churned up.
Evil Root Number Two is no more, having finally been worn through. It has been replaced by Evil Slab. Evil Slab is particularly malevolent, so there's now an exciting chicken run around it. Yay! \o/
Werewolf Drop is still there. If you go at the weekend, there's normally a collection of people at the top of it, at the bottom of it, or walking down it (that would be me...). There's currently a chicken run planned for Werewolf Drop to reduce congestion.
The end of the last section after Hugh's Bridge(including the two steps and the rollers) is currently closed for repairs.
The Monkey has had some black graded rocky features put in and I think there's been a section opened that replaces a fireroad section? Not so sure, not actually ridden the Monkey this year at all. :/

Got through Werewolf drop with 750mm bars no issues. Like riding off a kerb innit 🙂
has the Werewolf drop been made easier? think I saw something a while ago that it had been changed, as it was getting a bit hollowed out at the bottom.
What's this Evil Root Number Two/Evil Slab? Is it that root nearish the start, on that little climby bit just before you go down to the first long fire road climb? That always catches me out!
The werewolf drop has been rock armoured. And the entrance trees pulled and tied back as it was more dangerous than the braking bumps.
That is evil number one, Tom. Evil Slab is further round by Marquis Drive, and now has its own chicken run climb with braking bumps.

That's Evil Root Number One! 😀 Evil Slab (neé Root Number Two) is near the end of the last section before you cross the road to Tackaroo.

It was armoured with rocks quite a while back as it was eroding to what the FC regard as black grade, but I think that was a few months after it opened. It's a bit churned up leading into and out of it at the moment.
What it was like when it first opened:
What it was like a year ago - it's a bit more eroded around the base now:
All images shameless nabbed off Google image search!
Oh right I think I know the one, that always gets me as well 😆 Should get over to Cannock next week if the weather is nice, I can't remember if I've been this year yet. Look forward to riding this new stuff.
