I'll be at Afan tomorrow with a couple of mates to hopefully tackle W2. How are the conditions at the moment? The forecast looks pretty good; 13degs and dry.
Cant wait!
If you see us say hi!! (I'm riding a grey/black Trek Fuel EX and one of my friends is on his new Giant Anthem X2.
It's gonna be a bit wet with puddles etc it's absolutely pouring here at the moment, I live the other side of the mountain, has been wet for weeks so will be soggy, but the trails will be holding out ok - have fun ๐
it'll be wet and soggy but not 'too' muddy
dont know if its weekdays only but we were there last monday and there wrere logging operations on, the first section of s/track was bypassed on YWall so we had to stay on the fireroad (which the s'track eventually bumped you out on). Shortens the ride a chunk though.
we rode in torrential rain but it is a good all weather surface, as others have said may get wet but you wont really get muddy.
Thats good to hear- I know its wrong as a mountain biker to say you dont like mud but it can be a right pain in the arse! 2 local rides recently i've had to stop because the wheels were jammed solid.
Nobby nics /= mud tyres
Sounds good, I'll be there tomorrow too on a green ragley and can't wait. I've still got the racing ralphs on which I reckon will be fine, always seems to drain fine everywhere other than the w2 link mud bath.
We're starting at Afan forest park and will no doubt be stopping at Glyncorrwg for lunch ๐
A great ride yesterday despite the closed trails and quite a bit of fire road diversion on the W2. Took the hardtail on Racing Ralph tyres and didn't die ๐ฏ
Hope you all had fun too.
