Idly pondering a route that would start somewhere near say Devizes, go around the north of the Vale of Pewsey on the White Horse Trail; then take the Ridgeway over to Newbury ish, head south to pick up the Wayfarer's Walk, then head back West around Salisbury Plain on the southern bit of the White Horse Trail.

Sound good? From riding the Ridgeway it looks like there'd be plenty of scope for scenic bivvy spots, not sure about the rest of it though.

I did the Ridgeway last year, April time. Bit claggy in parts, wide open spaces, plenty of bivvy spots (if you are into that kinda thing) I BnB'd it in Farmhouse BnB's, bloody lovely.. the end a Lyme Regis turned out spectacular.

You mean Wessex Ridgeway? Different to the normal Ridgeway afaik. Also - lots of footpath on that, did you skip those bits or just cheekify it?

Is the white horse trail rideable out of interest? There are also likely bivvy spots on the wayfarers walk, not sure if that would be far enough away from a ridgeway bivvy for you though.
