Rode Ashton Court and Leigh Woods today , TBH it wasn't my 1st choice but after all the rain we've had Mendips and Quantocks aren't that enjoyable ATM . Took H/T but from the off my heart wasn't in it , got slower as the day went on , told myself it's just an off day . Thing is it's not something I experience that often so trying to reassure myself it'll pass . Just mumbling out loud I guess ? Anyone want to buy a Ti H/T ? 🙄

Do you ride whole days very often? If not, that may explain it. 🙂

Maybe winter blues ? Got the need to get back on natural stuff but round here that means nearly as long to clean bike and self after as the ride itself 🙄

I had one today, just couldn't get any 'go' out of my legs or lungs, normally precursor to a cold/illness in my experience and I'm starting to feel rough this eve 🙁

Huffed and puffed my way round a ride on Friday not really feeling it.

Been coughing, snorting and sneezing ever since...

I hope not for you too, just know the signs with me, hopefully you just lost your mojo briefly and it's back tomorrow!

Mountain bike has been parked up since BPW on the 2nd, just can't be arsed with the mud. Got a new road bike though, which helps

I;ve turned back a few times, just realised I'm not enjoying it and made the decision to head back rather than be pissed off.

If my heart isn't in it I just don't see any point in making myself do it. It's my free time, I might as well be enjoying it.

Same here for me. I commute pretty much every day by bike. Although I might be looking forward to a long ride home, some days something just isn’t right and I high tail it the short way back.
Don’t beat yourself up about it...it’s supposed to be fun

I have days like that. I find that i'm always better if I go out first thing after breakfast. If I ride any other time, I'm sluggish and tired.
Mud & rain doesn't help but I mix up road and mtb depending on conditions.
Sometimes it takes something different to reset your riding - if i'm feeling a bit flat, I hop on the hardtail - ignore speeds, distance etc and just ride somewhere and just mince about on my bike. I have a little route from Croydon that goes into London on sustrans type routes through parks etc up to Greenwich. It's a good one to just bimble along and take in some air. I get up to Greenwich, sit by the Thames for a bit and then ride back or along to London Bridge and hop on a Train.
It's nothing special but it's the kind of route where there's no pressure, speed or anything technical, just me and my thoughts. Don't get caught up in trying to go flat out all the time and seize the good days when you have them.

I've had days where I'm not fast, other than when i'm proper bastard cold I always enjoy it.

I don't generally ride on my own though which i'm sure helps!

A mate who is usually pretty good gets them sometimes it's tragic to watch him 🙂

I get that sometimes if I've not had a good nights sleep or if I'm riding with stilltortoise 🙂

Saturday passed - first time at Golfie trails, heart not in it, also carrying a knee injury that really should've stopped me going tbh.

Wolf of wall street is not the trail to be riding in the wet when yer struggling!
