[#10278173]

We're off to Skye next week for a late season escape. Forecast isn't for torrential rain all week so was debating taking the MTB or maybe road bike for a day's escape.

Can anyone recommend some nice routes (for either bike)? 😊

I prefer mtb but if I was going back to Skye I'd take my road bike.

Where abouts are you staying

None of the MTBing on Skye is really gravel bike compatible, and there are only a couple of decent routes. Personally, I'd go with the road bike. I'd not normally recommend the Skye roads as they tend to be so busy but it's out of season so will be OK. Note: the Moll road is closed due to a landslip.

Thanks all. I'd rather be on the MTB, but don't fancy a massive muddy slog fest since it's been rather rainy recently I believe.

Did consider sticking my gravel wheels in my adventure road frame, but useful to know there won't be miles of gravelly tracks and military roads to pootle along.

We're over on the west side just a bit further than the Talisker distillery (rainy day activity, tick!).

In that case there are forest roads on the west side of Glen Brittle that would give your legs a spin. Nothing amazing to ride, but the views.....
