Will a new ring take a old chain ( stretched ) ? What is the best way to measure a new chain to correct length.

12 links of a bicycle chain should measure 12",link pin to link pin,(12 links from first). Less than 1/16th inch wear is ok,past that,replace the chain or you will ruin chainring and sprockets. 🙂

N/W rings are expensive, why would you want to shorten it's life with a stretched chain?
