Does anyone know where I can get a 5mm stainless allen bolt in Edinburgh? It's to replace one I rounded on my XT crank arm.

Get over to the Bike Works on Argyll Place, they'll probably have a spare. Most likely for nowt as well. They're awesome in there!

There is a fasteners trade place in a small industrial estate in leith. I can't remember the name of it but I can check it out for you if you are still having issues

I have a collection of new and used bolts, how long does it need to be and is the size of the head on the bolt important, sometimes bike bolts have smaller heads to fit into housings.

If it's the pinch bolts, defo replace them with something longer - the holes are drilled and tapped right through. The standard Shimano ones are very short and have a habbit of stripping the thread. Standard socket heads will JUST fit in the receesses.....

If it's one of the pinch bolts the heads aren't a standard size - they're smaller than most, you may find a 'normal' bolt doesn't fit.

Brake caliper bolts (without washers) fit.
