I've just got a new bike and its got a syntace X12 with DT Swiss RWS axel for the rear wheel. Just trying to suss out how everything works. From what I can work out, I should be able to remove the axel by just turning the RWS handle anti-clockwise. It seems pretty stiff and I don't want to force it. Do I just need to give it a bit of welly? The instructions on the DTSwiss website are a bit crap.

Cheers,
Mike

Got impatient and gave it some welly. For once, this approach seemed to work. I have to say, this super duper new system doesn't impress me much. It supposed to be easier to replace the rear wheel. Its just taken me about 5 minutes to the the axel re-engaged with the threads in the frame. Must remember to stop listening to all the marketing hype.

The X12 isn't the problem here, it's the DT system which is pure, A grade bobbins.
