I replaced my octalink BB for an identical unit at the weekend, put the old cranks back on and went for a spin. Soon as I gave it the beans, I felt the offside crank give a little under pressure, so I stopped, when back in and upon taking it apart, I can see there is a bit of play in the fit between the splines on both sides. How, why, and what can I do about it? I feel I already know the answer.....
