Does anyone run a 150mm fork, also using it in the alps?

I need to buy a new fork and don't know whether to go 150 or 160mm? Riding mainly UK singletrack (trailcenters and local stuff) occasional freeride (not too big) and a once yearly trip to the alps... your thoughts please!
Thank you

I take it you mean a Mega? I have the second gen of the first gen model (not the new one).

Just changed from 180 talas (which, were really too long except on big proper DH only days), to 160 coil Lyriks.

I think 160 is the absolute sweetspot, perfect. And the coil lyriks are pretty lovely.

However, have not run at 150, only at 140 on the talas, and that felt way to short. 150s might be a wee bit short.

Bike deserves a good caning with thick stantions as well, 32s would be too noodly and not really match the "hit it hard" nature of the frame.

HTH, YMMV, TTFN etc etc

I run 160mm Bos devilles. If I was you then I would go for a 160mm fork. I think the bike would also work well with a 170mm. I would choose the fork depending on what you like the bike to feel like, as it can make a big difference to a bike. I went devilles because I wanted a more trail friendly bike which I can ride all day and climb on, so wanted something light and there are now other forks which are also in this bracket now.

If I am stronger or more down biased then I'd go something heavier duty and poss 170mm. I'm a big fan of 55s but they're too heavy for me.

Not really sure what the alps have to do with this? The bike rides the same in the UK or the alps, it's your body which struggles with the altitude, not the forks.

Same as big_scott_nanny, im running 180 talas for general trail stuff which i find ok for me (i probably need to ditch the 50mm stem for something a bit longer tho). I only use the 140 setting for climbing as its a bit short for use all the time. i also swap them out for uplift days to some burlier coiled 170mm 'zocchi 66's.

I used to run 36 160 floats which are ideal for this frame, i only upgraded as the talas were cheap and im a bike tart!!
