Any one using these? I'm in the market for a 29er wheelset and these appear to be in stock? Strength more important that outright weight for me.
Anyone have any thoughts?
This guy did a review on them.
I think Hardtail party Steve liked them.
Cheers!
The ARD inserts come with them - guess they are similar to Rimpacts etc. Anyone run such things? Are they noticebly better than not having them...?
Have had mine a good few months now and been really impressed in the 2000km or so I've done on them so far. Very well put together, they've taken some pretty big hits without flinching. I'm running a mullet setup with them - definitely more forgiving than my previous Light Bicycle / DT Swiss setup but not much heavier, and nice not to have the constant niggle about cracking a carbon rim.
Bearings seem well sealed.
I've got an ARD in the rear, which I've had for over a year now, works well, less hassle than a Cushcore when it comes to fitting.
Definitely a good wheelset from my experience.
Great question, I've got my eye on a set for a hardtail 29er build.
Well I've taken the plunge - won't be fitting until Feb time as they are for a BFe Max on order.
I bought a non-boost front a few months ago.
Rides decent and still true. light enough too especially for the price.
Complete trash. Bloke on the NP FB group just had his front snap on the 1st ride.
My 35kg kid fared better, they lasted 3-4 real rides before snapping.

Guy on Facebook got called out in the comments for telling lies..... he had a “massive nose case” which he didn’t mention on his post on Facebook yet seemed to admit to on his Instagram post. He’s since went quiet.....!
Your wheel is not a v2, that’s a v1 rim which is totally different to the one the OP is asking about.
Plenty of positive reviews starting to appear on CRC and Vital loved the v2s - https://m.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Wheelsets,44/Nukeproof/Horizon-V2,31466
V2 rim is taller and stronger but have they improved freehub durability and design, I remember mbuk saying the v1 freehubs kept self destructing as well as the replacements that were sent to them.

Oh come off it. That rim has very obviously been hit hard on a root/rock/square edge or similar. I've done similar in the past, and the only thing I've slated is my riding.
Being a rear I'd guess someone has cased a landing hard and isn't being honest.

There's nothing dishonest... It's a DH rated wheel and he weighs 35kg... I weigh double my kids weight and my non DH EX511's take it all in fact my £100 wheels lasted 2 yrs .. they were dented to hell but didn't split and would be still usable had the freehub not died. (The ratio of hard cases is probably 20:1 to me cos I'm shit.)
His previous Spank Race held up completely to 2yrs of full on (pre lockdown) riding.
Other than "lockdown riding with mum" these have been used 5-6 times... I replaced the rim with another Spank Race (27.5) and this has already seen the same or more use than the NP rim.
I used his old 26" wheels yesterday on the DJ and cased the hell out of them.... still fine.

Did you read your own lad's Insta comments Stevextc?
Just give him your EX511s and stop breaking rule 1.
