Need to replace the bushes and bearings on my Horizon Pros. Nukeproof video shows this being done with a bush tool and a bearing tool. Do I really need either of these tools, or can I get by with normal toolbox staples?

I did mine with normal toolbox tools but I will admit that having the proper tools would make the job easier/quicker.
serviced one of mine no problems with standard tools but the bush is stuck in the other one so I'm going to buy the NP tool to service them from now on

Some 10.5mm cylindrical bar works better than the 'tap' tool and only about a fiver. Check eBay..

Got the Nukeproof tools in the end, but the bush is jammed in. I can’t really get much purchase on the bushing removal tool - am I missing something?

Yes, one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291638105580 10.5mm just whack it out from the other size, simples !
Thread the tap onto the bushing a few turns and you’ll then you’ll feel the bushing start to turn. At this point pull it out. (Step 6 in the guide above)
It’s really simple with the Nukeproof tools.
The bigger alloy bar is for refitting the new bushing.

Yeah - that’s the theory. What actually happened was that it was impossible to pull the bushing out with the tool - it was jammed solid, and there’s no way to get purchase on the tool.
In the end I resorted to some typical (for me) bodgery - I hammered the tool out from the other side with a long Allen key and a big hammer. After that itv was very easy.
