Going to bite the bullet and race xc for the 1st time in years..

Which cat is better to go for Open or Sport?
From my old school Next welsh xc series days i seem to remember sport being the higher standard?

Yes i'm aware it will hurt but i fancy a change and whats the worst that could happen ๐Ÿ˜† also doing the 50k on the Sunday

I believe these days you need a license to race Sport, so if you've not got one, go Open. Sport's slightly faster, but not too bad.

Seems that you can do one race without a licence in sport then you need one.

On a related note, is the 100km race on Sunday open to anyone?

I'd go for Sport phil.
It is pretty quick at the front, but there is usually a good range of fitness, you will be fine. Your right in that you can do 1 race without a licence.

Open cat isn't as quick, and sometimes do a lap less as well.
