[#835875]

All in all my retrived scandal is as was apart from a few scratches, a knackered planet X QR seat clamp (?!?), a small dent on the top tube and -

- both rotors seem to be loose. With the front (or back) brake on I can rock the wheel back n for. Its not the rotor itself but where it actually attaches to the hub (for want of better descrption). This seems to be happening on both F&R. I've got the Planet X superlight 29er wheelset with XT rotors. I've checked the calipers are tight & theres no mevement there or any side to side movement in the hubs themselves. Any ideas?

- the bottom bracket sounds like a knitting convention - it makes a fair old clicking racket where it was previously silent

Any ideas much appreciated

Wrong pads inserted and they're moving around?

Is it just the pads rocking in the calipers, could well have always been that way?

When you say retreived, do you mean after a theft?

Dont think so - I can actually see a tiny bit of movement between the hub & rotor ie the rotor is locked solid by the brake but the wheel itself is able to move a little

Tinsy: Yup - I got my scandal stolen about 3 months back & picked it up from the police station last week , thread here

Psychle: Yup, they're the planet x wheelset - 'wheels are based around a Reetard 29er disc rim with a Centrelock type disc mount hub, running on catridge bearings'

Sorry to hear about your bike - very much feel for you as I've just been though it all.....

From my experience its best to let everyone know with detail & pics.
Where/how etc?

I've had a few centrelock rotors that do the same thing. There's play between the rotor and carrier where they are riveted together. I still rode them and it seemed OK but it did play on my mind. I eventually replaced them.

That sounds very much like my problem.

I'm off upto Thetford @ some point in the next few weeks & the thought of anything moving/rocking/slipping where it shouldnt doesnt exactly make me want to go all that fast tbh

How old were they?
How long did you ride 'em before you replaced them?

Cheers
