Just have a rest for 3-4 days. Don't drink and do eat properly. Reassess after the break. Happens to me evey now and again - then I look at the training log and realise why... Time for a rest! Have you recently upped riding hours/gym work?

Hora's a top heavy teenage girl? Wow! That explains a lot.

Borderline overweght / obese here. 5'9" @ 14.5st. Lost 2st in last 14 weeks. I consider I have another 2st to go, as a min, to be at top end of normal weight band. Enjoying running more than riding at the moment. Perhaps you could give it a go...something different just to keep your fitness up during rubbish weather.

hilarious thread, best one in ages!

Hora if you are 6ft 1 and weigh 16 stone, either you are on the olympic powerlifting squad or have a massive hunchback.

It's the only explanation I can possibly think of!

Maybe spending a week off the bike having more sex will put the ahem 'spring' back in your legs?

BMI is only relevant for couch potatoes who'd rather watch Jeremy Kyle than get out and do some exercise. It gets thrown out of the window once you start looking at people who maintain a level of fitness that is not long distance running.

I built up my upper body strength and core strength this year. I've been stronger and fitter than before but my weight increased.

Devs - BMI doesn't work for you as you're built like a brick shit house... Hora on the other hand appears to just be full of shit...

Stupidly I worked hard at the gym for 2 weeks and built my top half too much.

LOL and double PMSL.

5.10 % 13.5 stone, bmi is only a rough guide.

Hora, its very wet ground out there, this will make a huge difference to how draggy it feels and knacker you out much quicker.

also, stop riding by your self. social rides help take your mind off any minor issues but solo riding can amplify them.

...but group riding will amplify just how slow and useless his bike, not Hora obviously, is when compared to others.

RD, it was a weekend full of win, hopefully topped this year with Metallica and Black Sabbath headlining.
Hora, 29er. That's all I'm going to say but if you have momentum to carry they do it better. Mine has been a revelation.

Just looked up dbol. I'm kinda flattered that you think that I look enhanced but you'll be surprised to know that I haven't been in a gym in 10 years and even then it was nowt serious. 25 years of rugby, skiing and for the last few years mountain biking and a few press ups is all I have done. My only supplements are beer and cider, mostly taken in a binge session once a week. Oh and the occasional bit of blow at festies.

Oh! Late on getting on this one.
Cruz, I am 5' 7" on a good day, and way about 5 kilos more than you. But if I lost any weight, I would look like some prussian refugee.
I think it's a devs related thing. according to a BMI, I have been overweight since I was 14...

The older I get the longer it takes me to get going, feel crap for the first few miles / climbs then settle down. Find I have more stamina and can keep going a lot longer but at a slower pace. Can usually reel in the young uns after 20 or so miles! 6ft 4" and about 18stone. Need to shift some weight from my top half. I hear the rowing machine calling from the garage.

All the best endurance athletes are late 30's and well into 40's. Older people are just better at grinding out the miles and aren't best suited to quick sprints.

I'm 6'2 and weigh 11.5st. Heaviest i have been in the last ten years is 12 stone, and that when i didn't ride the bike for 18months.

This is just my natural weight, no need to bulk up are loose weight.

hora,

A few things to consider - you mentioned bad sleep. That's a huge starting point and, in many cases, the culprit. Outside stress (job, family, money, etc.) adds a lot to fatigue too. Another thing to consider is the amount of time you've been riding over the last week, month, 6 months, 10 months. Without proper stress relief and sleep, fatigue accumulates over periods of time and comes through as poor performance.

Hmmm 6ft 5", or maybe 6ft 4" now, and currently 17st 2lb. Maybe more, it's Christmas.

My ideal, roadie boy, weight is circa 15st 8lb. Anything less and I'm going backward. However I have no arms at this weight so cannot hang on to my DH or AM bike.

Hora, get this quite a lot and for me it's usually down to a lack of decent sleep. Bit of a vicious circle too as poor sleep means low quality workout, and poor workout leads to poor sleep.

Also solo rides, darkness, draggy winter tyres, sticky mud.. these things can make rides feel like a chore if you are tired before you start.

I usually cut back on riding and just do it when i know it's going to be fun (usually with mates), but can't run due to injury so having to ride for fitness which can take the fun out of it a bit.
