Having test ridden a Pugsley I'm getting the fatbike bug, BUT I'm curious as to peoples experiences with the fat tyres in terms of puncture resistance / wear & tear ? Are they any less / more prone to flats / tears than standard mtb tyres?

Would imagine to get a pinch flat youd be doing something very wrong.

I just put Stans in the Tubes of mine.

Not got around to trying ghetto tubless, but I guess I will at some point.

I'd say no more so than other tyres. I've got a Nate and a Hüsker Dü on mine at the moment. If anything the Nate is slightly more prone than the Hüsker Dü but I've put some Stans in the tube and it seems to be doing the trick.

Tublessed my Fatty Floaters when I got it and had no problems over about 500 miles
though the back is wearing quite fast

Touch wood, fine so far. I use mine trails, woods, beach, etc.....
Endo rear, Larry front with "lightweight" downhill tubes fitted...

Toobless on 7 different fatwheels here.
Ride all the same stuff i do on my other bikes but just don't seem to get punctures on the fat wheels.

Edit.
I'd recomend any of the Surly rims for tooblessing with ease.

Coming up for 20 months pretty regular use with mine. I've had one punctures (a thorn) in that time. That's with either Husker Dus or Nates. FWIW, I'm using the Specialized 2.3 - 3.0" tubes as a bit of a weight saving.

My setup up; On-one rims with 4'' floaters.
The tyres are so lose, I don't see how they would run tubeless without burping all the time?! Any hints/tips?

Had 2 punctures = 550 pumps from my pump each time 🙁 now use stans in a tube and none since. Too much fiddle to change tyres with tubeless, I like to change tyres a lot.

Niche bike buyers do **** all miles and have no worthwhile comments on them.
