Thought I'd extend my commute. after about 30 mins chain comes off the fixie, totally wedged behind the fixed gear. 10 minutes to get out, then i notice the chain is half snapped on one link. start to limp home, but it snaps. 30 minute walk home, and a cleat has snapped. having a coffee ready for attempt number two on my filthy winter bike. CBA.
At this point, I'd be taking the car. (assuming you have the option...)
work from home? call in sick? take a last minute days holiday?
I don't, wife has it!
I'll be in work for 10, no problem really, flexi time and all that, just gutting when you are looking forward to an hour on the bike, only for it to turn into an hour of annoyance!
Chain too loose? Stiff link? Take a spare link next time?
Although to be honest, I don't carry a chain tool when commuting on my fixed.
