Thanks for all the helpful replies- and the usual Internet lawyering ๐Ÿ˜•
The bikes will be staying in the house for the foreseeable future and I shall be investing in some of the suggestions on this thread.

So if you leave something that is "attractive" on view there is the debate regarding entrapment, subsequent injury and contributory negligence.
