Just wondering what the sizing is like for Northwave boots. Are they wide, narrow, roomy around the toes? I've seen a pretty good deal on some winter boots but have never tried NW shoes before and I've got short, wide but tall feet (Shimano shoes just don't fit).
Any advice much appreciated.

I have wide feet and hi instep and have always used Specialized shoes.
I bought the road version of the north wave winter boots and they are a similar roomy fit. They have a draw cord lace system that I was impressed with. Very tempted with the Mtb version as you say bit of a bargain at crc.
