Hi there.
I ventured up to Cambusbarron the other night and had a ball, but I found it pretty hard to navigate my way round. I’m thinking I’d be better off parking at the south side between there and North Third and riding the trails at both. I can’t quite tell where is ok to park though, does anyone have any advice?
I was going to post a photo, but I’m not sure how. I was thinking of parking on Gateside Road and taking it from there. The litter bin you can see on Google suggests is ok to park there, but I don’t want to upset the farmers or any residents either. Is there somewhere better to park? Hoping to go exploring with the kids this weekend.
Thanks.
Andy
Could park by the ford if it isn't already mobbed. Best place is probably to park in Cambusbarron (Community Centre generally has plenty spaces unless there is an activity on) and just ride from there through woods, in to North Third and back into Cambusbarron woods for more trails.
Thanks! Will go and look at that. Cheers.
Yup, parking at Cambusbarron is the favoured approached. Generally get parked at Quarty Rod no problem too
Ah yeah, forgot about the Quarry Road parking spot...not one I use myself as it tends to be a bit busy, but does depend on when you are going.
Spot on guys, thanks.
It was the Ford that I was trying to describe earlier. I’ll venture up there at the weekend and see how we get on. Cambusbarron sounds like the easier option.
