[#7960863]

Hi
Looking to come down to the lakes next Sunday with a mate for a day's biking but don't know any of the routes there.
I have only ridden Whinlatter and would prefer not to do a trail centre ride this time although I understand there's a decent route from Whinlatter that takes you onto grisdale pike which sounds good, so something like that perhaps or maybe the Borrowdale bash?.
But really it has to be 1.easy to get to/find 2.easy to follow and 3 not to extreme or big( maybe 20 miles max).
So yeah, I guess that's it,oh I don't have gps but have been considering getting one if anyone thinks it may aid me on this trip.
Anyway any help would be great.
Thanks in advance.

the bash is pretty easy and whilst good its really only the middle bit that is worth doing IMHO and that makes for a short ride

Borrowdale bash is an excellent loop, There should be plenty of routes online, my favorite way of doing it is starting Keswick and riding up Walla Crag. That way you finish in town so can go the pub, and can go to Borrowdale YHA for mid ride refreshments.

How about the tour of Skiddaw

You could also add in detour to the top if you wanted more.

Yeah Skiddaw is something I'd considered. But would be heading down early morning so wouldn't it be busy with walkers at that time on a Sunday? What about the other one's like grisdale and whiteless pike? They worth doing easy to get to etc?

Right I think I've decided to do the Skiddaw Loop but does anyone know a way or have a GPS file which misses out the 6 miles of road at the start?

No, that's the only one I got. I'very noticed that's a capital C in the Co.uk part maybe try that lower case if you copy & pasted it? Or try my wife's email which should be in my profile.

the 'guidebook' borrowdale bash isn't that great, but the unofficial or locals bash is good all the way
