So who lives that way, spending a week down there and taking the bike. Where is there to ride? Heard of the tarka trail, anyone ridden it?

North Devon spells Exmoor to me.. there's a bit of a grand STW Exmoor ride on today but I'm sure that when they get home some-one will be happy to answer your question..

I'm the other side of Devon but I believe that Porlock and Minehead are good starting points..

where abouts in north devon? exmoor has mtb options but move towards barnstaple and i have never found anything worth bothering with.

The tarka trail is an old railway so don't expect anything technical but if your looking for a pootle.

Going to Bradworthy. About 12-13 miles south west of Bideford. I'm starting to think it going to be an OS map and bridleways.

Porlock & Minehead are in Somerset. The Tarka Trail is good for riding with the family.

From Bradworthy get over to Winswell, pick up the Tarka trail (nothing special but good miles) that will take you into Bideford, from there follow the river out to Appledore, then around the headland to Westward Ho, then follow the coast path back to Clovelly. There is some really good riding around the coast path, some of it very hilly and techy some good single track through the woods. Then go back to start point. Will be a fair day out ๐Ÿ˜‰

I live in Braunton. North Devon isn't blessed with fabulous riding but has some okay stuff. Give me a shout about when you're down.

Barnstaple/Braunton both within easy stricking range of Exmoor, get the map out and make a day of it ! Simonsbath/Exford etc...

fit some semi-slicks, lock out the shock(s) and enjoy some quiet lanes.... just explore the minor roads and tracks between villages.. i.e. old fashioned road riding... can be really quite rewarding.

Lump: that's a great ride in theory, unfortunately significant sections off it don't allow bikes, namely most of the Coastal path.

Hartland forest has some tracks, hard to find but there if you look.

North Devon requires you have an OS map, some navigation skills and plenty of time. It's proper rough and ready down here. However you'll get plenty of very good cider.

I live in the sprawling metropolis of Landkey, famous for........hmmm sod all.

I like the routes around here, not to everyone's taste but generally quite fast and muddy!

I live not a million miles from Bradworthy...the only comment i can make is why Bradworthy??... good rides along coast path around Clovelly and Hartland....yes i know you shouldn't.. but get up early and you won't see a soul, although the locals do frown when you ride down Clovelly High Street.

I walked down there last week in the wet & the moss between the wet cobbles would make for an interesting decent!

Sponging machine- will do, off to coed y this weekend, got a demo 5 to play with! Tossing up between that or a Zesty 314! Hard choices. Might even stick to old reliable- my 2004 Giant VT1!

The clovelly hartland stretch is great, although some massive hills! If you hit clovelly high st at the right time and pace you can really scare the donkeys!
