Buying some new cranks. Obviously Shimanos spring to mind, but are there any other brands/models worth looking into?
Kinda depends on budget, number of chain-rings you want and intended use...
XC usage. 2*10 most likely.
FSA for higher end stuff.
Clavicula for weight
Middleburn for durability
Truvative for annoying BB compatibilty issues.
I like Rotors for XC duties.
