Buying some new cranks. Obviously Shimanos spring to mind, but are there any other brands/models worth looking into?

Kinda depends on budget, number of chain-rings you want and intended use...

that is sold cheap because it won't last 5 minutes?
unless things have changed recently?

I often have the same question, but always end up with Shimano.
