shimano are pretty quiet, and ive never had one fail on me.
Shimano. I prefer them on my tourer although I have hope on most everything else.
cool, cheers guys
Tell her she's wrong and GOI.
Shimano hubs have terrible freehubs - quiet
Hope and Chris King make great freehubs - noisy
QED
But seriously, you could always try and find an old Shimano 'silent clutch' hub which are truly silent or a True Precision Stealth hub ( http://www.trueprecisioncomponents.com/tpc-products/mtb-rear-hub/).
Open free hub. Pack with grease.
Simples.
I too like silence on the bike. Its a higher evolutionary thing!
