So there isn’t any noise from the freehub until I hit the 40 or 50 mile mark. It is a continuous soft tinkling but only when the freehub is under drive (doesn’t have to have significant pressure). It’s almost as if the paws are not quite in sync with the ratchet.

I apply pressure to the chain when the bike has stopped (with the brakes on) and there is the same ‘tink’ from the hub…I move it one freewheel click back, apply the same pressure and there is another soft ‘tink’ as if the pawls haven’t gone into their designated tooth.

I have recently replaced the pawls in the freehub and the freehub cartridge bearings but still this mysterious noise remains…and only after a good 40 or 50 miles has been ridden.

It sounds like the ratchet is worn? Any advise/tips would be helpful thanks.
