I'm after some high volume tyres that can put up with technical rocky dry trails. The 2.4 rubber queens are too big.
How do Nobby Nics Snakeskins 2.4 compare with Vertical Pro 2.3's? NN much bigger? Rolling resistance better? Tyre lighter? Tougher?
I really need to know if the tyres will fit in a Commencal 4.2 with Reba forks.
A 2.4NN only just fits in my 09 Reba, only a couple of mm to spare. I wouldn't ride it!
My schwalbe 2.4 fat alberts are smaller than rubber queens, slightly bigger than vert pro's. Dunno how much room is on the commencal but they fit reba's with not a great deal of mud clearance
I like the all round grip and easy rolling (for a 2.4) of the NNs.
However i have found they are pretty weak. I have the tubeless version and had two punctures on Tour de Ben Nevis, one on a tarmac section.
They are pretty pricey as well. I would say it is a good front tyre but i think i may look for something a bit tougher for the rear.
I have not seen the tyres you mention so can not comment on sizing.
