Being a larger framed person (90kg) I ran XR4 2.2 on the rear of my hardtail (nice and comfy) until a flint sliced thru the tread. I then changed to a 2.25 Nobby Nic and first ride out flint thru side wall, thought this was just bad luck, bought another, first ride out flint thru the tread. I thought running fatter tyres would help spread the load. Any one out there got any suggestions what I could try next. Conditions vary from claggy mud to dry single track, but always lots of flints.
