I've been looking at a friends bike and at first thought the tyres where on backwards, just going by the tread pattern. Looking at the direction arrows on the sidewall though, they where put on as reccomended...has shwalbe got things back to front or do the tyres work like that?
They work like that. They do look like you've got them on the wrong way, but it's right (if you see what I mean)

You remember that earthquake last year? It wasn't, it was me getting out of the saddle on a climb, making the earth skip backwards with the increased traction.
