I've finally got my lights from lightmalls and want to test them out at Haldon but don't fancy dying in a heap on my own. Does anyone on here ride up there during the week?

iirc there is a wed night ride from kennford (pub) starting around 6pm, decent pace i think, but pleasant chaps, I ride there after work sometimes but not regularly enough really, I *may* be up there tomorrow but due to work its not worth organising anything in case I have to bail.

just go on your own it'll be fine and there will normally be someone else there, I'm always there on my tod be it night or day.

Watch out for the fallen tree on the second section of the Red trail!!!
Wouldn't fancy meeting that in the dark.
It was down on Sunday so is probably firewood by now.

wed ride leaves the ley at kenn at 6.30 to meet at the top of the cycle path by the a38 flyover ( between the red crossing and the racecourse r'bout ) to leave at 7. they climb up the old a38 slip road to get there. usually back at the pub for 9.
i'm not out tomorrow as i'm away. we usually try not to drop people and try to make it fairly social. pace does vary depending upon who's out, but make yourself known to a few people and hopefully they'll keep an eye out.
i enjoy it, nice bunch, and you'll probably ride some stuff you've never ridden before. good welcome, fire, beer and food at the pub too.

@ zelak, if you find problems like that and you're able, please let the forestry guys know. they inspect after high wind etc. but the sooner they know the better. there are contact numbers posted next to the office at the hub if r'qd.

Del - Thanks, sounds good. Will try and meet up at 7.

Zel - I was up there on Sunday and told the rangers about the 2nd red section so they may have sorted it by now. Will be careful though!

Just digging this up to see if these rides are still regular or not? Was thinking of going up after work tomorrow and wouldn't mind seeing some stuff I've probably never ridden before.

Thanks. Will probably be up there a bit earlier so might just time it so my ride passes where they meet and see if anyone is around.
