Want to get a set of night lights for next winter. I reckon now would be the time to buy as its out of season so I'm hoping to pick them up cheap. Anyone any recommendations? What works best and whats pure rubbish?

It's a bit early for a "what lights" thread, isn't it? 🙂

I've yet to get round to updating the website, but there are a few discounted 701s and 601s, cosmetically flawed, but they are new and discounted.

PM me if you're interested.

Lupine Tesla 5 is worth a look - I've used a Tesla 4 for a couple of winters and have been well impressed with its light output, battery life and general quality of construction.

I just got an xml/18650 based torch as a birthday pressie and its an order of magnitude brighter (and runs cooler) than the SSC P7 based (eg Tesla clones) bike ligths (that I have 3 of). I reckon by next autumn XML is where the light wars will be at.

I am a cheapskate though so others will be along to recommend premium brands.

If I had your budget to spend I would defo talk to trout or one of the other uk builders.

Edit - goddamit - my link doesnt work. But do a search on here for xml / xm-l

I had the same dilemma as you - troute vs. luminous vs. cheapo imports. However, I also found that Evans are doing decent prices on exposure stuff just now. You could get a maxx-D for £250 or a 6-pack for £360.

I went for a 6-pack - for me it had the best balance of power and battery life. And it has no faffy cables and battery bags.
