PB to middles moor, over to scar, round the top to over ramsgill down and back to PB? somewhere between 21 and 25 miles. Depending on which deviation/varient you take.

If you go out via eagle Hall and Ladies Rigg, down merryfield mines and then over Heathfield that adds 5, 7 if you bare left of the NW and ride up to Greenhow, and then down through cockhill mines and rejoin above Merryfield.

Rarely map them precisely but usually reckon on 25 miles from Pateley

If you park at Ramsgill or there abouts (Lofthouse?), much shorter to just do that circle/circuit than including the PB start/finish bits. Still a big ride tho.

Basically combine 'Around Gouthwaite' with 'Tour of Nidderdale' for the standardish version. So about 27 miles. I wouldn't personally bother again with the little loop off up past the Caravan Park and the quarry near Pateley - didn't add much interest for me.

The ever-generous ridewithgps makes it 28. Cracking route for the most part though.

Tony,

Heres the details of the ride we did for Deejays birthday a few years ago, if you remember...

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=207063998188866218962.0004864c87da7dea62d1a&msa=0

it was 30.6 miles.

The mtb the dales site has the gouthwaite route backwards, the quarry route should be done leaving via bewerley so the quarry is a descent.
