Riding Swinely tomorrow as I'm dropping my son and his GF off at reading festival. Going to ride it from about 1pm until 8ish then need a pub to eat and relax/read until kick out time before i head back to reading to collect them.
Saw this thread: http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/post-ride-pint-near-swinley-pub-recommendations-please
Is it still relevant 2 years on?
Dont mind driving 10-15 miles out of swinley to find a nice place to be for evening.
Ta
Not sure about Bracknell and areas but you could do worse than motor 20 mins and go to the Anglers in Walton on Thames. Its right on the river and the food is really good (gastro-pub style). Fringe benefit.. it's not Bracknell ๐
Finchampstead? Queens Oak?
Might be an idea to check whether food is served on a Sunday evening though.
Thanks. Finchampstead looks like ideal location - will give them a buzz.
The Tally Ho, Eversley, which is a Bluebeckers.
Well there is also the Greyhound in Finchampsted.
Would recomend the Bird in Hand in Little Sanhurst the food is good espically the burgers
7hrs at swinley!
kfc just down the road open 'til late & even has soft seating ๐
The windmill on the a30 is good. Between Bagshot and sunningdale.
if you are heading back towards Reading then lots of options on route depending on how big a deal food is for you
Golden Retriever on nine mile ride is fine
The Victoria in Binfield is a really really good pub
The Warren between Wokingham and Binfield is a really good food pub
The Green Man in Hurst is a great pub for food as well as drink
But if you are on your own and want a pub with a library to occupy yourself in why not try the Stag and Hounds near Binfield?
Enjoy...
Thannks all - plenty to keep me occupied there ๐
I can recommend the KFC as well ๐
