As per title really as I wan't the SO to have a look before she gets her new frame.

tbh you might be better getting the park tools blue book and letting her flick through that.
people seem to either be interested in how a bicycle works/want to learn how to sort issues out or not. If she's shown no interest to date then don't expect a change of heart now?

Well I just want her to lent me a hand to swap stuff over her new frame, so that when something happen to her on the trail side (puncture, snapped chain, cable failure)she might have a rough idea of how it works.
