Seems like i have signed up for a beginners session, not for a bit such is the waiting times etc.

I am hiring a bike, i there anything i should be aware of? what pedals etc.

what is the worst that can happen

I shouldn't worry about pedals, they'll stick old school cages on so you can just use trainers (which, for a first time, is fine)

Just don't stop pedalling...

i believe the hire bikes require delta cleats if you want to go clipless.

Thin long sleeve top in case you crash to make the track burn a litle less bad!!!

i had wondered if it made sense to wear two thin jerseys. Is there anu heating, does it get warm?

Having just done a taster session at Manchester the worst that can happen: you will love it and want a track bike, i do. Sadly i dont live close enough to a track.

Did the course this time last year, great fun but hard work and a bit frightening to begin with. Gloves and helmet are the only thing you must have. I wore trainers so didn't have worry about cleats.

not sure, but the session i am on is July, this might be to do with the organiser though.
