I currently have some bontrager ranger wheels (off my old Fuel).
they weigh a ton, and the general wisdom seems to be to reduce weight here before anywhere else.
so - recommendations for wheels please. I don't have a silly budget, but how about those there mavic crosstrails? they also do centre lock meaning I don't have to buy new rotors.
so currently thinking of crosstrails, what else is in the circa 1800g wheelset league at that price?

I think All Terrain Cycles have some good deals on bontrager race lite wheelsets. They are probably around the weight you are after. Dirt had a positive review on them too this month
I'd keep an eye out for some hope xc hub/mavic 517 wheels on the classifieds if I were you.
