Anyone using a nukeproof one? If so which one? Or is everyone using a cane creek. Again if so which one?

My headset is a cane creek z3 I think. I'll have to check. It's ok for the price although it does produce an annoying creak every now and again.

Not the prettiest of headsets but just fitted to my 2011 5 spot.
Had to dremel a slight lip off the inside of the headtube due to the depth of the lower cup.

Ouch ! dremel on a new frame, that is NOT the correct headset for a 5 spot frame. In the part number
(Nuke Proof Warhead 44IESS-DC Headset) The last 2 letters DC refer to deep cup. Those cups are too deep for a 5 spot frame. You need the standard depth cups to avoid nasty dremel work!
I am using a Nuke proof headset on mine but with a standard 1 1/8th steerer. What steerer is fitted to your forks Billybull?
This is the spec recomended on Turner site, External lower bearing internal upper bearing.
For standard 1 1/8th steerer use the 44IESS (44mm Internal / External Standard steerer)

If your forks use a tapper steerer you need 44IETS (44mm Internal / External Taper steerer)

Cheers ๐Ÿ™‚

No nasty dremel work required just about 5 seconds to remove some poor machining burrs.
The turner forums on mtbr recommend the deep cup lower to reduce stress on the headtube.
Well worth the 5 seconds it takes IMHO .

Never mind the forums I will let Turner do all the machining to the frame, and i will fit the size of headset that fits and that Turner recomend. That avoids ay problem with warrenty. IMHO.
