[#8279249]

Hi guys,

New to the forum, after years off the scene (used to ride a custom Specialized Demo 8 ) I'm now back on a bike after buying myself a used 2015 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Evo 650b.

Took it down to Swinley a few weeks ago for a couple of shakedown laps round the blue trail. Working my way through a few maintenance tasks now: New grips, cassette, chain, tension dropper cable and bleed both brakes.

I'm already remembering why I used to do DH, and planning a trip to Bike Park Wales (uplift booked of course) at the beginning of March, although I may look to do another trip sooner as that's too long to wait!

Just incase there are any garden related comments on the way, the Demo picture was taken in a field, and the Stumpy photo was taken at Swinley....

😀

It's a bit of a running gag here, for any bike photo there will be few comments on the bike, but lots on the backdrop.

However, front wheel valve/logo alignment?*

Shocking!

*also a running gag. Even so, sort it out. Now. 😉 And, why only one valve cap.....? So many questions....

Shouldn't the cranks be lined up with either the chainstay or the seat tube?

Hello!

Bahaa, you can see back when I was 'into' biking stuff was lined up, on the Stumpy photo years later that thought hadn't even crossed my mind! 😳

I apologise if my complete disregard for all things parallel/perpendicular or opposite has offended anyones eyes as a result...

Valves/logos on the Demo, too.

You're either brave, or stupid, or both coming on here with that sort of behaviour. Either way, you'll fit right in! 😀

Nice Stumpy there!

My advice?

Never post anything on the general Chat Forum. Pretty much ever. If you do, be prepared for a long war of attrition without ever convincing a single person to change their point of view. Lol 😉

Even on this forum you'll see a full on holy war start over wheel sizes or the Boost standard. In a good and amusing way though!

In all honestly,I love this forum. Some really knowledgeable and decent people on here. Just be prepared for the (mostly) friendly sarcasm.

Oh,I don't work for STW but I would recommend signing up for their stupidly cheap subscription which gives you digital access to all the back copies too.

What I'd it guys? Around £12 or something? ?

Seriously, seriously good value!

Enjoy! 😀

Okay so to catch up on some of the barrage or questions that appeared overnight...

1. I do not own a coffee machine, nor do I drink coffee OR tea *runs and hides*

2. I don't use a razor, I use the sharpened edge of a garden spade

3. "lwb or swb sprinter? Neither, I'm the running kind, 21.39 is my 200m time.

4. I've actually got an Audi A4 with a roof rack...the shame.

5. Who's Fred...? *shifty eyes*

Everyone at work knows I don't do hot drinks now, bonus is I never have to do a tea/coffee round.

I do get some strange looks as if to say "What do you mean you don't drink tea or coffee? Are you unwell?"
