Does the extra clearance they recon these brakes have come from the lever or the caliper?

Lets hope its not the lever otherwise your phat fingers won't fit on them ;-0

Phat is relative.

As in my phat fingers are phat compared to your weener. ๐Ÿ™„

err, maybe neither ?

I think the lever pivot point is variable somehow so that initial pull gets the pads to the rotor fast, followed by less pad travel as the lever moves further to give more control

The oones on my mates bike grind just as bad as my brakes in the mud, so I doubt the pads' resting position is any wider

That's kind of what I was thinking. The caliper doesn't appear to be any wider and it uses the same pads. So when the pads are new they can't be any further away from the rotor can they?
