Nice bike, strong endorsement to buy same frame again. Good to see Melbourne is getting the same sunny weather as we are in the UK right now 😯

Gorgeous looking bike. I'm a bit jealous of the sun!

the required tools were wood, beer and hammers.

Chances are the trees were close relatives.

Argos will do a new downtube for £100. Bit of a trek from Melbourne though.

Its getting welded up so it can be put out to pasture as a town bike; dunno the frame number, but it is one of the first ones with the chainstay gussets.

You'll know when it starts to go, as it makes a go awful creaking noise. I stopped, couldn't see anything as the crack as it was under the sticker, but then I launched into a rock garden and it went.

rode home spoinging about with just the top tube.

just smashed out 2 hours round the local singletrack* - awesome, feels like the old one, but the front is way more direct. I need to reduce the forks down for the xc season here, but with the travel as it is, you weight up the front it goes through the rocks like anything.

(*dry, dusty, sun dappled, loads of butterflies and 30C)
