Want a pair of stiff, comfortable and reasonably protected MTB shoes to run clipless pedals off.

Any other recommendations? Using them for trail centres and alpine stuff.

I'm a big fan of Specialized's shoes, available in a pretty wide range to suit your budget. Perhaps worth checking out, at least.
