I like the idea of the 2x10 drive train with the timing chain runing on the same side.
why? Enough to buy a new frame?

Why.
So you can use two standard external bearing cranks.
Nothing to do with the frame though.

They're still designing it ATM. That's just one of two prototypes they've built to try a few things out.
