[#10281489]

I'm after a new saddle for my Trance: I have a Spesh Toupe, 155 wide, on my road bike and want the same level of comfyness in my mtb. I was going to get a 155 Phenom but no shops seem to have them here in Canada so I'm looking for alternatives.

Any suggestions?

I'd get a 155mm toupe

I have Spesh Phenom and Avatar's - I prefer Avatar on road and MTB's - more comfortable. Phenom is OK for short ride, Avatar better for longer rides.

Equally hard to get hold of.

Canadian supply chain is a little different to the UK (based on my experience) because the sport of mtb is so much more seasonal.  You're trying to buy at the end of the season when most bike shops go into "survive the winter" mode with limited stock etc - try again in the spring and you might find plenty in stock.

Not really an option: I need it now as the saddle I currently have is painful.

I was under the impression that Specialized dealers are a screen away from North American inventory..
I assume you've asked a Specialized dealer for availability and timeframe to store?

a) I haven't had a chance to get to one yet (bloody work getting in the way)'

b) I was hoping to get something for this weekend.

Always have used the ISM Adamo peak(or other models) ..... at my age my ancient plumbing is very precious.

i’m going to give the SDG Duster a try for my latest bike (anyone tried em?).......but I think I’ll be going back to ISM.

Swap over the saddle from your road bike for this weekend?

I'd rather not because if I crash and damage it I'd have to buy 2 saddles and that's my road bike out of action as well.

Unfortunately Canada has really poor internet shopping infrastructure.

As I'm just finding out.

Anyhoo,  I stopped into the bike shop in Vancouver, on the way to work this morning, and picked up a Phenom for $40. The guy in the store said it was an OEM one taken off a bike and "its probably worth more, but you can have it for $40".
