Need to replace my 105 cassette and KMC X10 chain on my road bike. I've always liked KMC chains but this one has not been good at all so I won't be going there again.
My instinct is SRAM chain and Shimano cassette, any reason not to go down this route again? Any other suggestions?

I use Shimano chains and cassettes on the road. They all last so many thousand miles that I don't really care!

Do you still need special joining pins on Shimano chains? This is one of the main reasons I don't use them normally.

I used to just use a SRAM powerlink on them

Yeah I use a KMC Missing Link.
